  Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group has always tried to encourage member participation and interaction. To this end we arrange many events and activities.  
  Surplus Sales

This is one of the most popular events in the regular NHARG calendar. Taking the form of an auction, members can sell their unwanted surplus equipment to other members. The auctioneers attempt to obtain a good price for the vendor whilst keeping the whole thing at a light and humorous level. Audience participation is not only encouraged but is a must for this event.		  
       
         
  Egg Races

The Great Egg Race is a quiz of a different sort. The audience are asked to split off into teams at which point NHARG member Ken Clarke sets the challenge. Usually involving a box of bits, soldering irons, glue, wood, etc Ken will let the teams know what it is they are to create. Recent Egg Races have involved building a Morse Code Oscillator, A Signal Generator, A Working Crane and a vehicle that will travel across the club room.		  
       
     
  Quizzes

Another favourite NHARG event are Quizzes. Staged two or three times per year members split up into team and are set a series of Questions, sometime trivia, sometimes such things as Theme Tunes. These can range in subject from TV to Amateur Radio. A prize is available to the winning team.		  
       
           
  Inter-Club Quiz

During October the club stages an Inter-Club Quiz. Clubs from around the area are invited to send a team and take part in the quiz. We usually get six teams who battle in a trivia quiz to win prizes donated by Kenwood UK, Waters & Stanton, RSGB and by the club itself. At the end of the evening after the prize giving the assembled mass are treated to a buffet supper.		  
           
  Trips Out

We have recently begun a series of Club Trips. In 2003 the club visited Bletchley Park the home of Station "X". Members then spent a day touring the site and viewing the exhibits. During 2003 the club also visited the National Space Centre in Leicester. In 2004 & 2005 we had a Christmas Shopping Trip to London. 		 
       
           
  Get Together's.

The club tries to get its members together socially at least twice per year. This is normally at Christmas, for the Mince Pie Evening and then again in mid-year for the Summer Get-together. There is always good food and good company at each occasion.
